About The Therapist

Support from someone who truly understands TMJ pain, personally and professionally.

Who Am I?

Hi, I’m Christine Janzen, BS, RDH, CMT, and I’m a registered dental hygienist and massage therapist specializing in TMJ dysfunction and nervous system-focused bodywork.

Like many of my clients, I’ve personally experienced the pain and stress of temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD) for over 20 years. After a decade in clinical dental hygiene, I saw firsthand how many people were silently struggling with jaw pain, headaches, clenching, grinding, and the overwhelm that comes with it. I knew there had to be a gentler, more holistic way to help.

That realization led me to create Jaw Zen Therapies: a space where science, compassion, and intentional touch come together to help you experience real relief.

My journey began with a myofunctional therapy course through MyoMentor, which opened my eyes to how breathing patterns, posture, tongue placement, and daily habits profoundly affect jaw health. From there, I dove deeper into modalities like myofascial release, craniosacral fascial therapy, and TMJ-focused massage, blending them into the hands-on approach I use today.

My work is centered around helping clients understand the “why” behind their symptoms while providing calming, effective bodywork that supports long-term relief.

If you’re looking for a holistic, non-invasive way to ease jaw pain, headaches, and tension (and a therapist who truly understands what you’re going through), I’d love to support you on your healing journey!
